Using Apps in the classroom
When you think about using apps in the classroom the first thing that comes to mind is games or social media but those are not what I will be talking about. Yes, some apps are great for learning but apps like canvas and shadow puppet are different ways for students to get creative when telling stories or doing projects because it gives them a different way of thinking of the assignment. For example, when students first start school, each student can create a get to know you page on Canva and send it to the teacher to post outside and inside the classroom so other students can get to know their peers and find other students with common interests. I even posted an example of an all about me page that students can use as well. As for shadow puppet it is a way for the student to tell the story using videos and telling the story in their own way and using whatever items they see fit. They can use it to tell personal stories that they came up with themselves to share with the class. Apps are used in everyday life so using apps to submit assignments is a great way to keep the students engaged in learning and also to help them be creative.
